Submissions From Others for Lotus of Your Life

I am presenting here items which people have shared with me and which the individual has given permission for the sharing. I will post them in the order received and with a Chapter reference. I will include a first name of the individual or if a person wishes to remain annonymous I will indicate such.

Submitted via email 7 February 2016 – a reflection from Bill – partial quote

My life was in a transition,…it was a painful transition to be made. I have followed the Eigthtfold Path to the best of my abilities, meditated daily and read what I could, mostly Thich Nhat Hahn’s books, particularly The Heart Of the Buddha’s Teaching. I decided to dedicate my time and energies to my music and teaching of music, my grandaughter, some social causes, mainly helping the homeless, and pursuing Buddhism formally. I’ve had attending a Buddhist Temple on my bucket list for many years….

What is interesting about reflection, and Buddhism, I think, I am still a beginner, is I could have picked any events of the past 56 years and followed that thread of thought into this exercise. My story is one, but telling it has different paths the story can unfold, some depressing, some happy and inspiring, yet they are the same story of my life. My guess is this will come up in expedient means, you can only tell so much in one sitting, and after many sittings, things can get confusing to the listener.
